![]() ![]() Responds to and assist the facilitation of State Audits.Interfaces with Information Systems Department for technical support.Prepares and processes various correspondence.Provides support, leadership and training for other employees, including new employees.Supplies and researches needed documents such as deeds, probates and validity of ownerships so segregations can be completed. ![]() Determines eligibility and coordinate with the Treasurer’s Office and the State Department of Revenue for special assessments on real property.Determines exemption status based on ownership and other qualifying factors.Learns basic rules, regulations and procedures of related divisions within the department as well as other county departments and outside agencies for the purpose of recognizing and routing information.Sorts, files and distributes form letters conducts ownership research and enters data.Prepares reports related to cashiering activities as needed.Balances daily receipts and deposit receipts with Treasurer’s office.Collects fees for various maps, copies and reports.Completes transfers manually and updates computer records as needed.Processes documentation to show new and altered land transactions.Computes acreage and square footage using cartographic methods.Examines a variety of map data such as photography, road plans and utility maps as they relate to determining parcel location.Assists processing current use applications and explain current use programs to the public.Assists employees and the public with requests for parcel maps and information about ownership and legal descriptions.Scans, posts and routes 1% excise tax affidavits including reading and interpreting legal descriptions of various levels of complexity enters sales information in database determines if segregation is required and sorts affidavits.Reads, interprets, and researches legal descriptions and documents as they relate to chain of title.Locates information from assessor’s records refer customers to other departments and/or agencies as needed.Assists the general public by correspondence, in person or by telephone to process forms, answers basic technical questions, takes complaints and explains services, policies, procedures and schedules related to parcel data and segregations.The actual total will vary depending upon each employee's enrollment choices. Total compensation is an estimate based upon base compensation, median retirement fund contributions, and current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates (including medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, and leave). Under the general direction of the Property Records Supervisor in accordance with applicable statutes and administrative rules, work is reviewed for quality, thoroughness, timeliness, accuracy and conformance to established policies and procedures and, when appropriate, for effectiveness in dealing with customers. This position performs clerical assistance and complex technical work associated with property tax exemptions, excise tax affidavits land records, assists in submitting segregations, current use applications, parcel changes and serves as a contact for customers (citizens developers, title companies, other office personnel, etc.), regarding various technical issues in the Assessor’s Office. This position will work 37.5 hours per week.
